Morning Prompts
1. What is my intention for the day?
Setting an intention first thing in the morning helps us know what to focus on for the day. This can be a goal we want to accomplish, a virtue we want to practice, or an affirmation to guide us.
2. What am I looking forward to?
It doesn't have to be grand. It can be as simple as looking forward to having a nice cup of coffee or trying out a new workout. Listing down things that excite us conjures happy feelings which is always the right way to start a day: with positivity.
Night Prompts
3. What did I learn today?
Here, we look back on the things we did for the day, then ask ourselves how we felt about them and why we felt that way. We can write down personal realizations and reflections. We can take note of emotional triggers we discovered and behavioral responses we observed. We can ask ourselves how easy or difficult it was to commit to the intention we set. Or we can simply jot down a passage or quote we encountered and ponder on it.
4. What am I grateful for?
A very simple but very powerful question. Even though there are bad days, there are silver linings always. Remembering all the good things that happened, big or small, ends the day on a positive note and guarantees a good night's sleep. ✨
The morning prompts mentally prepare us for the day ahead and the night prompts let us reflect on the day that has passed.
